Just a little sidetrack from the ongoing issues of the moment as the present continues to transform into history, seemingly at an increasingly faster pace. Amidst all the action, this blog of mine has also transformed, from a small, tiny and totally unknown site to a slightly larger, medium-sized, slightly more known site. From just around 1,000 visits per month in the beginning (if I was lucky), to 10,000 visits, and then in the past few months going over 100,000 visits per month. From an Alexa ranking that did not register at all amongst the hundreds of millions of websites in the world, to a ranking that currently stands around 550,000. Through it all, various web traffic counters and web analytics and statistics code have continued to track the hits, views and visits, and a milestone has just been reached with Sitemeter recording over 1 million cumulative unique visits to this blog. It's a nice number and it's good to pause a bit and reflect on the journey so far. Given the niche nature of this blog and website, and the rather specific focus on energy, peak oil, inflation and commodities investing, it's great to see that there is an increasing audience of people interested in these areas. I will continue to try to chronicle things as they happen with the usual helpings of opinion and commentary, and endeavour to improve on whatever aspects of the site that I can. I hope that you have and will continue to find the postings here informative and useful, and I would like to thank you, the reader, for your visits and support. (2009-04-16 00:31:29 SGT)
