You know, with peakoilers being quite rare in Singapore, even now, it's actually a blog-worthy piece of news when I find that there's another fellow peakoiler here. Right here! In "fine", sunny, "world-class" Singapore! Imagine! So, when there are two peakoilers who've introduced themselves in the past two months, that's definitely blog-worthy. They are : simontay78 and shooperman from peakoil.com. So here are the following people in/from Singapore whom I know of, who are at least peak-oil aware. Not all are from peakoil.com, some may not even be *in* Singapore right now (you know who are you lol) : 1. biow That's not counting an American peakoiler who visits Singapore from time to time, and that's not counting the lurkers who read this blog and visit other sites like LATOC and so on. And that, of course, is not counting our ministers, who, I'd suppose, should be very much peak-oil aware - (Lee Kuan Yew talked about "Limits to Growth" in a speech, Environment Minister Ibrahim reportedly drives a 2004 Toyota Prius hybrid car). So ... now what? *shrug* I don't know. Maybe when $80 oil hits, there will be more people asking, "what's with these high oil prices?" But *after awareness*, what? The current range of reactions ranges from doing nothing much (yet - still reading up perhaps), to investing/speculating in the resource sector (namely, me! - and some others too), to bugging all the way out to greener pastures (well, it's definitely literally greener there - again, you know who you are). We'll see. - Update : added orwell76 via wkwp, re-sorted list. (2006-07-17 13:48:48 SGT)
