Sour Cream Pound Cake

i'm trying to clear my baking ingredients.. so it's baking with a vengeance.. but, my mom is irritating me.. she will hover over my shoulder and give me her comments.. and it's damn irritating for a person like me who follow a recipe as straight as a ruler.. she will tell me substitute this, substitute that.. dun use scs butter (but hey, that's what i hv man).. dun put so much flour.. why so many eggs.. arrgghh!! really testing my patience.. then when she ask me for recipe, she will say this and that.. too difficult lar, ingredients too expensive lar.. and worst, she dun believe what i tell her!! like, need so much butter meh.. can use planta what.. okie.. do whatever u want, but this is the recipe as it stated.. u want to modify anything, modify at ur own risk.. dun ask me to follow cos i want to follow strictly as the recipe!.. and i know, ang mo cake ingredients are expensive.. that's why she never bake them.. i know thrifty is a virtue.. but u want to be thrifty, then dun ask me how i bake all these ang mo cakes.. dun ask me for recipe only to tell me, i dun want to bake.. dun ask me to demo and then keep critisizing how expensive the ingredients are! stick to her pumpkin kuih, yam kuih, etc, etc.. arrgghh.. patience.. patience.. and it's not like i bake very often.. and my family unit is so small.. so, of cos i will try to use the "best" ingredients.. it's not like last time when there's so many of us to feed.. but mabbe i can learn to be thrifty too?

as i show her the pictures of my muffins, she keep on insisting they can be steamed instead of bake in oven!! like i said, she likes steaming, she shd stick to those nyonya kuih.. dun ever ask me how to bake a cake again.. but again, i dare not say all these in front of her.. so, i can only vent my frustrations here.. heh.. shhh.. dun tell her.
