Remove duplicate data or records, create list of unique data or records in Excel 2003

Ever wonder how you can create a unique list of data from a column in Microsoft Excel? Since i'm a programmer I'm so tempted to do a "SELECT DISTINCT column_name FROM table_name" command. Now, I know I can do this equivalent SQL command easily with a few mouse click. Here is the step-by-step guide to help everyone to create a list of unique data or records from a column of data that has duplicate records in Microsoft Excel 2003. And also as a reference for me in future.

Step 1. List of your duplicate data
1. Select / highlight all the cell in your column where you want your duplicate data to be removed.
2. Go to Data > Filter > Advanced Filter...



Step 2. Specify the cell for your unique data
1. In the "Advanced Filter" pop-up window, select "Copy to another location" radio button.
2. Enter range of cell in the "Copy to" field. I just accept the default given value of $B:$B.
3. Checked / ticked the "Unique record only" checkbox.
4. Click OK.



Step 3. Unique data created
1. The duplicate data is removed. Your unique list of data or records will be created in column B.
