when u say 'fry washed uncooked rice...', need to add oil or just fry it dry? i'm a novice in cooking, so just excuse all the stupid Qs, k? was thinking of trying it this weekend, as i'll be home alone! housemates all going home for cheng-beng. gonna try the original recipe instead of ur version, coz no microwave here... anything i should take note?

i ask my mo, (she is staying with me).. she says need.. if u deskin ur chicken, then mabbe less oil.. if not, oil as per normal.. i think..
put oil, fry the garlic a while, then pour the uncooked rice, lap cheong, mushroom to the wok and continue frying.

ooo... like fried rice lar?
Posted by sue on April 03, 2005 at 03:05 PM SGT #
ya, tapi, it's uncooked rice hor.. the frying is to make it more wangi.. but i think u can skip this lar.. just dump all in the pot and cook.. i dun like to fry.. wait kena mop the floor.. *sian*

sorry sue, i kpoh. if you not sian to mop floor (unlike biow..heehee), i suggest you do fry the rice. to me, the frying is a MUST. not only is it more wangi that way, it helps the rice to not stick together. yes, it's uncooked, washed rice, but make sure you drain the rice first before adding to the oil. heh. obviously.
