bits and pieces

about me.. random thots I have been talking to myself these days..

I now love teochew porridge - plain white porridge.. yum.. my mom used to cook this every saturday or sunday.. back then, i really hate this porridge.. i only love minced pork porridge.. now, I must be getting old.. cos, this becomes my comfort food..

Still on food, now, I don't mind chopped spring onion and fried shallot in my soup.. my mom despite her being strict and all, when it comes to food, I really respect her.. She used to cook at least 5-6 different dishes for all of us.. There were 7 of us with VERY different liking of food.. my bro and dad must have some sort of sambal/spicy food.. i can't take spicy food, so my mom will cook non-spicy dish for me.. Then, in my soup, I like it kosong.. NO spring onion, NO shallot, NO parsley.. so, my mom will always ask me to eat first so that i can scoop out the soup while not "polluted" yet.. :P.. but now, i'm ok with spring onion and shallot.. still dislike parsley though..

I like chee cheong fun.. but the sauce here in Singapore.. *sigh*.. I just miss my hometown's sauce.. my dad used to buy us packets of chee cheong fun plus steamed yam cake.. and becos I hate chee cheong fun, i make my dad go somewhere else to buy wantan mee.. dried thick wantan mee WITHOUT chilli.. now, i'm OK with chee cheong fun..

Moving on to movies.. I dun watch comedy.. or, if I do watch, I rarely laugh.. I love those sad sad movies that make me shed a tear or two.. or those that make me cry until i have headache the next day.. those were the movies I love.. :P

So, then, who are my favorite actors? Robin Williams.. I know he acted lotsa Comedy.. but I watched those sad ones from him, like, Good Will Hunting, Patch Adams, Robot, etc.. Sean Connery.. oh man, you gotta love him.. so charismatic.. heh.. The Rock, Entrapment, etc.. and Matt Damon..came to like him after Good Will Hunting.. How can one not like watching Saving Private Ryan, the Ocean's series, the Bourne series, Invictus?

Authors I like.. Lucy Maud Montgomery.. The Anne of Green Gable series.. Jeffrey Archer and John Grisham.. The latter two once make me contemplate to be a lawyer.. unfortunately, my English is not good.. So, I know I can't take that route.. I was better in Maths and Science.. Hence, the field I'm in now..
