Malaysia Citizenship

I AM A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN BUT MY THREE YEAR-OLD CHILD IS NOT. HOW CAN I REGISTER MY CHILD AS A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN ?

Any person under the age of 21 years may be registered as a citizen provided at least 1 parent, either the father or mother was a Malaysian citizen at the time of birth.

Application shall be made by either parent. Where the Malaysian citizen parents are dead, application can be made by guardian.

Application have to be in Form B which can be obtained from the counter of Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara or Registration Department of Malaysia.

Application in Form B must be accompanied by the following documents :

* Identity card of applicant
* Birth certificate of person to be registered
* Entry permit of person to be registered
* Travel document of person to be registered
* Birth certificate of sibling (brothers or sisters) of person to be registered
* Identity card of parent or guardian of person to be registered
* Certificate of citizenship of parent of person to be registered
* Marriage certificate of parent of person to be registered
* Court order of guardianship if applicable
* 3 photographs of person to be registered
* RM$10.00 application fee

Application shall be delivered personally by the applicant to the National Registration Office. Applicant will be required to sign the application in the presence of a Registrar of Citizens.

Once the application is approved, you'll have to pay a fee of RM$100.00 for the issue of a certificate of citizenship.

Jika kelahiran di Singapura, tidak perlu mendaftar dengan Pejabat Perwakilan di Singapura; jika anak tuan/puan hendak menetap di Malaysia pada suatu masa nanti, memadai dengan memohon pengesahan taraf kewarganegaraan dengan JPN melalui Pejabat Perwakilan di Singapura dan kemudian memohon perakuan taraf dengan Jabatan Imigresen.

4. My child was born in Singapore and I am a Malaysian citizen. How can my child become a Malaysian citizen?

If your child was born in Singapore, you do not need to register the birth with the Representative Office in Singapore, and if your child wishes to reside in Malaysia one day, it is sufficient to apply for confirmation of citizenship status from the NRD through the Representative Office in Singapore and then apply for a certification of status from the Immigration Department.

how often do you know of someone who give birth to twins? amazing isn't it? such a wonder..

pet tortoise.. introducing..

jojo and gigi.. keke.. i suck at giving names..

down memory lane, this reminded me.. my very first "pet" was tortoise! my dad bought my 2nd sis and me a tortoise like this for each of us.. (but i'm very sure the kiam ka na dad we had will surely not pay S$9 for these two!!).. my 2nd sis and i then decided to name them yoyo and toto.. needless to say, me the squeamish, has nothing to do with them other them looking at them from far.. my 2nd sis did all the change water, feeding, playing with them.. so, while at market yestterday i saw tortoises for sale.. so, bought 2 for ken and wenn to "relive" my history childhood..

i can only recall how wonderful my dad was.. he bought us birds, rabbits, tortoises, fishes, chicks for my sibblings.. and he even made kennel for the dogs, some litter boxes(?) for the rabbits etc during various stages of our lives when we (minus me, i never like any animals) were loving different animal phases.. i can only envy those indulgences my dad showered on my first 3 older sibblings, esp my 2 brothers on this pet aspect.. so, my older bro still love dogs.. my 2nd bro still love fishes.. and the girls unfortunately do not like any animals.. heh.. probably we got my mom's genes.. let's hope my ken and wenn will look back and remember me fondly like i did for my dad..

P.S... lynn, if u'r reading this, YM me some tips on caring of jojo and gigi.. EM give me 1 week before these 2 die.. *yikes*.. hope not!
