we can use this amt above to offset the price of a NEW car or forfeit this amt totatly PLUS pay a PQP (Prevailing Quota Premium) rate to renew COE for another 5 or 10 years for our existing vehicle.. as of today the PQP rate is $ 11,064.00.. and PQP is not the price of the COE currently.. it's an average of a few weeks of COE or something.. cos last mth or so, the COE went so low to abt $5000 or $6000.. thought of buying, but no.. the PQP is still in the 10k + range.. and the 17,492 can only be rebated IF we buy a new car..

our initial plan was the latter.. forfeit the amt above and pay the PQP rate and drive our car for another 10years.. :P.. i think it's still do-able if we have the time.. i still think maintenance is cheaper than getting a new car.. unfortunately what we lack off is time.. every repair/service may take a full day or so.. and also the push factor got to be the $ 17,492.. it's 17k to offset a new car.. it's temptation.. and so, we finally know why in singapore most of the cars are new.. the system is successful..

and so now we waiting for our new civic.. EM has his eyes only on civic.. hmmph.. our current civic is the 6th generation.. the next car of ours will be the 8th generation.. and thus, we continue our debt.. :(
